Coreum proudly took center stage as the main sponsor of the 9th European Blockchain Convention (EBC) held in Barcelona, Spain, in October 2023. As the premier blockchain event in Europe, EBC served as a gathering ground for industry stakeholders to delve into discussions on emerging technologies, industry trends, regulatory frameworks, and innovation.

During this influential event, Coreum introduced a new concept that encompasses its vision and capabilities: The Superledger. Coreum delivered a keynote presentation at EBC. Jovonni Martinez, Coreum’s blockchain director, emphasized the pivotal role institutions play in blockchain mass adoption. Introducing the concept of a “Superledger,” Martinez outlined the amalgamation of capabilities from decentralized networks and compliance-based chains. Coreum’s key features, including interoperability, ISO20022 compatibility, XRPL bridge, cross-chain Smart Tokens, Metamask snap integration, and Unreal Engine SDK, were also highlighted.

200 Hackers / 48 Hours

Reflecting its commitment to fostering the next generation of blockchain developers, Coreum spearheaded a Hackathon in collaboration with EBC. The objective was to incubate the development of Smart Tokens Integrations, Social Apps, and Cross Chain dApp Migration solutions. The success of the hackathon led to the launch of top-tier projects on Coreum, ranging from DeFi protocols to full-stack gaming applications.

Over 200 participants, organized into 50 teams, to collaborate and innovate over 48 intense hours. The results were outstanding, with the winning projects showcasing the diverse capabilities of Coreum’s ecosystem scaling solutions for growth.

Meet the Winners

1. GuildHub — 1st Prize: A Web3 Smart Social App

GuildHub, the first-place winner, exemplifies Coreum’s dedication to building a robust and engaging community. This Web3 Smart Social app enables gamers to create, join, and manage guilds and teams of all sizes across any game. The project seamlessly integrates tokenization, NFTs, and Web2 aspects to gamify and bridge the best of both worlds. GuildHub allows gamers to access a private metaverse space where they can interact, participate in governance decisions, create and trade NFTs, and tokenize their organizations on the chain.

2. Llama Finance — 2nd Prize: A Cross-Chain DApp Migration Platform

LlamaFinance, the recipient of the second prize, represents Coreum’s commitment to full interoperability across all chains. LlamaFinance is a pioneering decentralized finance (DeFi) lending and borrowing protocol developed during the hackathon, demonstrating Coreum’s advanced features such as ISO20022 compatibility, IBC interoperability, and innovative Smart Tokens.

3. Social Experts — 3rd Prize: A Completed Project Deployed on Coreum

Recognizing the time constraints of the hackathon, the third prize was awarded to Social Experts for successfully deploying a comprehensive DApp on Coreum. Social Experts is a platform enabling users to share and access data sets from various sources and domains, facilitating data discovery, exchange, collaboration, and monetization.

4. Dmuse — Honorable Mention: Blockchain-Based Social Platform

Dmuse received an honorable mention for its blockchain-based social platform that supports artists, allowing direct payment by users and fostering music discovery within a social circle through the use of Smart Tokens.

5. Token Titans — 5th Prize: Pool Prize for Appealing Projects

TokenTitans, a diverse team dedicated to revolutionizing the SocialFi landscape, received a pool prize for their decentralized application (dApp) built on Coreum. Offering features like profile creation, community establishment, and a unique TTD dApp token for content monetization, TokenTitans showcases the power of Coreum’s network integration.

6. CoredIn — 6th Prize: Pool Prize for Appealing Projects

The Web3 Wizards presented CoredIn, a professional SocialFi network built on Coreum. Utilizing verifiable credentials, DIDs, digital sovereign identities, and on-chain verification, CoredIn ensures user information is secure and follows the latest standards in self-sovereign identity. The platform offers subscription features, utilizing smartNFTs, and aims to enhance user interaction with encrypted on-chain messages.

Coreum’s Network Expansion Plans
